Basically a "typical corporate" or "tour group hotel", this Times Square chainster "works hard to help" those "on a budget" enjoy the surrounding "shopping, eating and entertainment" before settling into "nicely redone" if "small" rooms ("stay on the concierge level" and "watch the night scene unfold below"); better still, there are "many dining choices right outside" to counteract the "average food."

Beds were very hard.

Our stay was very pleasant with the only exception being the beds were very firm. I was especially pleased with the speed and short wait for the elevators. Even though we were on the 34th floor we never had to wait more than 30 seconds for an elevator, even during morning checkout times. ...read more

Great location! Very helpful and friendly staff, from the front desk, concierge and housekeeping-4 star. The room itself, while very clean, needed some obvious repairs from the loose light switch at the door to the closet light fixture hanging by the wires-not what I would have expected from a hotel of this caliber. The front desk clerk was extremely friendly.
The bed was hard,
hear too much noise outside, room not well managed or cleaned, poor linens.

Upon arrival were offered an upgrade to the more modern side of the hotel. The clerk was truly friendly and professional. On initial view, we thought this would be a good hotel until I entered the room. Simple things such as caulking (in the shower) in the bathroom was rapidly and poorly done. The noise level outside the room was high, it was hard to close the curtains, the bed was small (1 double bed), the mattress was hard, the linens were old and thin. ...read more

Pricey (but it's NYC, so that's expected).

Location was ideal, staff was friendly and accommodating, room was spacious and clean; internet was $13.00 per day, can't stand to pay for internet access.
